This Privacy Policy applies to the OBD2LOG app (package name: kr.utiful.otl) provided by Utiful. OBD2LOG connects to an ELM327 OBD-II adapter over Bluetooth to show real-time vehicle data and to record drives together with GPS location.
Utiful does not operate its own backend servers for OBD2LOG and does not collect or store directly identifiable personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number. OBD2LOG has no login or user account.
Vehicle data read from the OBD-II adapter, GPS location used while recording a drive, trip records, diagnostic reports, and exported files (CSV, JSON, GPX, PDF) are stored only on your device. This data is not sent to servers operated by Utiful.
The app includes Google AdMob advertising and Google Firebase (Analytics and Crashlytics). These SDKs may process information such as advertising ID, device information, approximate location, app interaction data, and crash and performance diagnostics to serve ads, measure ad performance, prevent abuse, provide personalized or non-personalized ads, and keep the app stable.
OBD2LOG uses location (including background location while a drive is being recorded) to attach GPS positions to your drive records and to draw map tracks. This location data is stored only on your device as part of your records. Utiful does not receive your precise location. Approximate location may be inferred by Google services from your IP address as described in Google's policies.
Bluetooth is used only to discover and connect to your ELM327 OBD-II adapter. OBD2LOG does not collect a list of your other Bluetooth devices for any purpose other than connecting to the adapter.
Information processed by advertising and app services is used to provide vehicle diagnostics and drive recording features, serve in-app ads, maintain app stability, analyze errors, and improve app quality.
Advertising and diagnostics data may be processed by Google AdMob, Google Analytics for Firebase, and Firebase Crashlytics. Google's handling of this data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and AdMob policies. Map tiles are provided by OpenStreetMap.
Utiful does not store OBD2LOG users' personal data on its own servers, so there is no separate personal information retained or deleted by Utiful. Vehicle data, drive records, reports, and exported files stored on your device are deleted when you delete them in the app, clear app data, or uninstall the app. Data processed by third parties is retained according to the policies of those services. You can reset your advertising ID or limit ad personalization in your device settings. You can delete individual drive records inside the app, and you can remove all app data from your device by uninstalling the app.
